The cloth for taking coatings off, not the one for drying the car. Short-pile, 320 GSM, edgeless.
Gentle Buff is a short-pile edgeless microfibre, and short pile is exactly what coating work needs. A long, fluffy cloth grabs at curing coating and drags it, leaving high spots and streaks. A short pile levels cleanly.
This is the cloth you use to wipe the excess off after applying Skyline, Magnite, Aurora, Carbon or ONE, and to buff up afterwards. It is also the right thing for general paintwork buffing.
Edgeless, so there is no stitched border to catch on a panel gap or drag across your clear coat. Korean microfibre.
- Short pile, so it levels coatings instead of dragging them
- Edgeless, no border to scratch with
- The correct cloth for the coating removal stage
- Korean microfibre, 320 GSM
- 2-pack
Which cloth do I need?
Yellow Bahama, 250 GSM. The general one. Interior and exterior, everyday work.
Gentle Buff, 320 GSM short-pile. Coating work. Levelling and buffing off ceramic coatings.
Purple Blaze, 320 GSM closed-pile. Glass and degreasing. Streak-free, leaves nothing behind.
Silky Finish, 400 GSM ultra-soft. Polish removal and drying. The softest in the range.
All edgeless Korean microfibre, safe on coated surfaces.
Wash. Separately from other laundry, at 40 °C or below.
Never. Fabric softener, which clogs the fibres and destroys absorbency.
Retire. Any cloth that has picked up cured coating or touched the floor. It will mark paint.
Pile length determines whether a coating job goes smoothly. Long-pile cloth grabs curing product, leaves high spots and turns a clean application into a rework. Short pile shears the excess cleanly at the right moment. This is the single most common equipment error in coating work, and it costs time on every job.
Edgeless construction, Korean microfibre, no stitched border to catch on panel gaps or introduce marks on freshly corrected paint.
Stock enough of them. A single coating job uses several, and a cloth that has picked up cured product is a cloth that marks paint. Running short is how technicians end up reusing a gummed towel on the last panel.
- The correct cloth for the levelling stage on every coating application
- Short pile shears excess cleanly instead of dragging it
- Edgeless, safe on freshly corrected paint
- Korean microfibre, 320 GSM
- 2-pack. Buy in volume for coating work.
Washing. Separately, at 40 °C or below. No fabric softener.
Segregation. Keep coating cloths separate from wheel and interior cloths. Cross-contamination is the leading cause of self-inflicted marring.
Retirement. Discard any cloth that has picked up cured coating or contacted the floor.
Support. Technical support available from Ultracoat UK.
